I am reaching out to upstate churches in my role as Chaplain and clergy liaison at the Julie Valentine Center in Greenville, SC.

We will be holding a training for all area churches, clergy and staff, to assist in recognizing and responding to child sexual assault and sex offenders in the church.

While many denominations require Safe Sanctuary or Safe Haven training, our training can serve to fill that need and it offers a far more thorough treatment of the factors involved in child maltreatment and the spiritual injuries and needs of sexual assault survivors.

This training will be on Oct 2-4, with keynotes from Victor Vieth of the Gundersen National Child Protection Training Center. He is a former prosecutor in child sexual assault cases and recently graduated from seminary with a thesis on the church's response to child abuse. Please save the date and stay tuned for further details and registration.

Lacking some contact emails on your site, I am reaching out through this avenue.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions regarding this training or any issues your church is trying to navigate.

Grace and peace, Carrie
